Whilst studying at the University of Cape Town, I teamed up with four other students for our simulation office programme, We created Imaginarium Architects as the practice model and took this project to Stage 4.
As phase one, we designed an ecology centre in an abandoned quarry on the Cape Peninsula, South Africa. This site had amazing views looking out over the False Bay area, and great potential in terms of location, access and the programme itself. The building was placed on the lip of the quarry,
The programme comprised a restaurant, shop, conference area, auditorium, offices, whale-watching platforms and an exhibition area.
The quarry floor landscaping was to be done in a subsequent phase.
My fellow team members were Alexander McGee, Joanna Rawson, Rianne Grey and Vicky Myerson.
